Treating Periodontal Disease with LAPT
Laser Assisted Periodontal Therapy, or LAPT for short, is an amazing breakthrough in the treatment of periodontal disease. LAPT combines the most sophisticated periodontal debridement (removal) techniques with the advantages of Laser Therapy. We gently place a tiny laser fiber between the gum and the tooth and use extreme precision to remove diseased tissue and destroy pathogenic bacteria.
There is very little to no pain associated with LAPT. Thus, the periodontal therapy procedure provides an optimal environment for rapid healing. However, the number of visits we require for LAPT varies. Generally, we base this decision on the severity of the periodontal condition and existing medical conditions. LAPT is a highly effective, non-invasive FDA approved dental procedure.
